Brian Brumit

President & Managing Member

Brian has extensive experience as a process management professional with over 28 years of excellence in designing programs to improve operational efficiencies and directing high performing delivery teams for three national companies.

Prior to starting HCSG, Brian spent 16 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Managing Director and was a recognized leader in project planning and system delivery within the United States, Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America. While at PwC, Mr. Brumit was instrumental in leading PwC into new business arenas and directing their development. Exploiting the "value-based" reporting imperative, Brian was a key contributor and US Practice Leader on the international development team that built a multidimensional data mining and financial reporting application called CLIME. Brian has been trained in comprehensive methodologies for business process reengineering/redesign (BPR), information technology planning/delivery (SDLC), Project Management (GDPM) and Quality Assurance (ISO-9000).

In addition to his responsibilities at HCSG, Brian has provided consulting services for several large insurance organizations, published articles on third-party reimbursement rights and has been a guest instructor at a variety of healthcare conferences.

Brian received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts and Sciences from University of Southern California in 1979. His studies also included executive education programs at Princeton University for a certificate in Strategic Systems Planning & Structured Analysis, University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) for a course in Management & Financial Analysis, and a seminar series in Technology & Product Strategy Development at the Sloan School of Management at MIT.



John Valentino

Chief Operating Officer

John became the Chief Operating Officer of HCSG in January of 2009, after having worked for over 25 years in the banking industry. Prior to joining HCSG, John held the position of Senior Vice President at Interstate Bank, in charge of Executive Loan Committee and Financial Reporting.

Prior to joining Interstate, John spent over 10 years as Chief Operating Officer of Lending and Private Banking for Main Line Bank, in charge of building commercial relationships. John has a Master's Degree in Finance from Drexel University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, also from Drexel University.



Joseph Milukas

IT Department Manager

Joe Milukas has over 15 years of information technology professional experience. His current responsibilities at HCSG include application development, developing and implementing database modifications, and analyzing business processes to identify new opportunities to keep HCSG on the leading edge of applying information technology to maximize recovery yield. He is a Sun Certified Web Component Developer for Java 2 Platform and Sun Certified Programmer for Java 2 Platform. Joe earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the Stern School of Business of New York University and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from The Cooper Union of the Advancement of Science and Art.



Jack Shlapak

Director of Recovery

Jack Shlapak is the Manager of Operations and a pioneering member of HCSG with more than seven years experience working on behalf of health insurers in healthcare subrogation and reimbursement with a focus on Healthcare Recovery from Workers' Compensation Carriers and various overpayment recoveries. Mr. Shlapak was instrumental in the development and implementation of HealthCare Subrogation Group's highly successful HIMP recovery line of business. Mr. Shlapak is responsible for quality control of the HCSG operations.



Megan Hill

Manager of Medical Review

Megan heads our Medical Claims Review Department which consists of 25 medical professionals representing a variety of disciplines. She is responsible for all areas of medical claims management and staff training and is also directly involved in writing medical narratives and explanations for our most complex cases. Beyond the Medical Review function, Megan is also highly involved in other areas of operations at HCSG, including creating documents for new areas of business, researching rules and regulations for other areas of recovery, and training recovery staff in new lines of business. Megan graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.A. (Finance) and obtained a Post-Baccalaureate degree in the Sciences at Mount Holyoke College (MA). Megan then studied at the University Of Bridgeport College Of Chiropractic where she graduated 1st in her class.



Vani Savalgi M.D, F.R.C.S.

Medical Consultant

Dr. Vani Savalgi is the Medical Consultant for HCSG and works closely with the medical team providing her professional opinions. She is a medical doctor as well as a Member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of England and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She has over 12 years of experience as a general surgeon and over 8 years of experience as a Medical Consultant.
